Welcome to Harrisville! Harrisville Borough is a small community located in northern Butler County, the center of town being located at Routes 8 and 58. Harrisville is nestled between Grove City, Slippery Rock, Barkeyville and Eau Claire, with Butler to the south and Franklin to the north. Harrisville Borough covers 4.38 square miles. With a population of 1,045, Harrisville is a small, comfortable community for its residents. Harrisville has a lot to offer to residents and visitors alike. In addition to many businesses, Harrisville also has a Lion’s Club and an American Legion .

HVFC covers 13.6 square miles consisting of the Harrisville Borough and Mercer Township. We run about 300 calls per year. Among these are QRS-Quality Response Services to medically assist with the ambulance service, Fire Calls (residential, commercial, brush, etc.), vehicle accidents and traffic control as well as providing non-emergency services (flooded basements, trees down across roadways, etc.). We also assist neighboring companies from Mercer, Venango and Butler counties when needed. Volunteer Applications can be downloaded from the HVFC webpage under “Requested Forms”.

The Harrisville Police Department is located at 215 South Main Street. The Police Chief is William Scheckler. There are two additional officers on staff with the Police Department, Daniel Anschutz and David Murrmin. All of our officers are employed on a part-time basis. Harrisville Borough also receives supplemental support from the Pennsylvania State Police out of Butler, if necessary.
